What this is all about
The Giving Quest is a year long experiment in how to travel, play, and contribute to our world. We are a wife and husband team who have been dreaming of the opportunity to take a step back from work and responsibility, and to refocus ourselves on what we think really matters in life. We also want to drag our friends and loved ones along for the ride, both through this website and physically when we can!
SO, our plan is to turn our trip into a real life game, where we can level up, develop our characters, and build an amazing new world whilst improving the one we already have. We will take off at the start of Spring in a truck camper and begin driving around the continental USA. This is where YOU come in. We need quests! Epic, amazing quests! We want you to challenge us to complete tasks. By doing this we will have taken one step towards earning experience points which we can use to advance levels. The second step is our commitment to volunteering during the trip. For each quest we complete there will be a certain time requirement that we have to fulfill by helping some amazing organizations who could use some voluntary time. We need you to help with this as well; suggest some worthy causes dear to your heart. When our quest and hours are complete we will move up levels. The objective is to move up as many levels as we can during our year and to rack up some seriously high stats for our volunteering also.
We will be interacting with you through this website, and the linked social media pages. Please use 'The Journey' page to chart our progress on the interactive map. On here we will be linking to place specific quests, blog posts, routes, and also the organizations we visit, profiling them and allowing you to find out more about their causes.
To contribute quests please contact us through 'The Quests' page, and for a more specific understanding of the rules (there has to be rules in a game), please visit 'The Rules' either through the links at the top of the page or by clicking the button below this section.
We would also like to give a massive Thank You to everyone who has contributed to our journey thus far, especially Thomas Williams and Benjamin Ashwell, whose deeds shall ring through time.
